Valoree Celona
President, Healthcare Programs

About
Valoree has over 30 years of casualty and professional liability underwriting experience. She took the helm as President of Programs, Allied, and Alternative Markets for Coverys in 2019. In this role, she focused on strategically expanding and diversifying the Coverys insurance footprint. In 2025, she expanded her role to lead of all production and pricing.
Valoree began her career in insurance as an underwriting trainee at Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company (MLMIC). Her path led her to AIG Healthcare, where she was tasked with underwriting a broad spectrum of medical professional liability (MPL) classes. For almost a decade thereafter, Valoree worked as a reinsurance underwriter for Employers Reinsurance, Odyssey Re, and Converium Re. As both a facultative and treaty underwriter for multiple casualty lines, these experiences equipped her with a nuanced understanding of risk transfer mechanisms and portfolio management. Subsequently, Valoree worked for Ernst & Young's Business Risk Services group, where she spent five years focusing on best practice reviews, SOX compliance, and anti-money laundering assessments and remediations within the financial services industry. There she became a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and worked on some of the largest financial crime remediation projects in the United States. She made a return to insurance, joining AIG Healthcare to lead program teams in both the US and Canada. After that, she worked as Division Executive/Senior Vice President for the MPL initiative at Liberty International Underwriters (LIU).
Valoree received her B.A. in economics from Fordham University and earned her CPCU designation early in her career.
