Please note: New grant submission is temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. |
With healthcare providers focused on fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, we are temporarily suspending acceptance of new grant submissions for our programs. We are also extending reporting and funds disbursement schedules for organizations that are currently engaged in projects funded by a Coverys Community Healthcare Foundation grant.

How the Grant Application Submission Process Works
Two types of grants are available:
1.
General Grant Program — open to all applicants.
2.
Patient Safety/Quality Improvement Grant Program — open to eligible healthcare organizations insured on a primary medical professional liability policy by a Coverys underwriting company (see program information for eligibility parameters).
General Grant Program
Coverys reviews general grant applications throughout the year. Typically, for small grant requests, the review process may take up to eight weeks. However, for grant requests
over $50,000, we follow a review cycle that includes a submission deadline and associated estimated review dates. For 2020, this review cycle is as follows:
Deadline for submissions |
Estimated review date |
January 31 |
March 3 |
May 5 |
June 2 |
August 11 |
September 8 |
November 3 |
December 1 |
To be eligible for grant funding, you must comply with our
Grant Guidelines and be willing to follow our
Reporting Guidelines. In addition, the work outlined in the grant must focus on at least one of the following areas:
- Patient care and safety
- Healthcare providers and organizations
- Healthy lifestyles
How to submit your general grant application
Patient Safety/Quality Improvement Grant Program
Submission time period to be moved to a future date in response to COVID-19 pandemic.
Healthcare providers are facing unprecedented challenges as they work to deliver quality care in a pandemic environment. In light of the current situation with COVID-19, we are going to move the launch of the Patient Safety/Quality Improvement Grant Program to a future date. Please know that we are committed to making these grants available, but want to be sensitive to what our policyholders are dealing with at this time. We will update this webpage and notify applicable policyholders and agents/brokers when firm dates are determined.
Our 2020 grant theme is
Care Transitions—now, as never before, the transition of patients between providers or from one level of care to another is critical. We believe that new insights and solutions will emerge as healthcare providers manage patient care in the face of this pandemic that will help to improve care transitions across the healthcare continuum.
